The Empty Cupboard

The Empty Cupboard

Our discussion centers around some recent conversations we’ve had with other folks that have recently, or are in the process of leaving the traditional church that they had been a part of.  One of the common themes was how the fellowships they were a part of were growing more and more empty of life.

  1. I can relate to the feeling of the empty cupboard in the IC. Having left it about 3yrs ago , and being involved house church, I have still found that most of the folks in house church were meeting oriented rather than relationship oriented and seem to think that God will make friendships occur with little or no initiative on their part, so now I’m just asking God to connect me with people and not focusing on meetings. You guys ever try the house church thing?

    • Hi JIm,
No we never did the house church thing. We weren’t looking for another way to ‘do church’. Just like you, we waited on Father to connect us with folks. It was a little disorienting at first, but it has been so much better. -bob
